# Product Safety & Ethical Sourcing
Every geode and fossil we ship is a natural material, excavated by hand from the earth — not manufactured, treated, or synthetically produced. That means safety and sourcing aren’t an afterthought for us; they’re part of how the product is made from the very first step.

## Product Safety
**Natural material, inspected by hand.** Because our geodes and fossils are natural specimens, every lot is visually inspected during grading — not just for quality, but to identify and remove pieces with sharp breakage, unstable fragments, or other physical concerns before packing.
**Choking hazard awareness for kit products.** Break-your-own geode kits and small specimen products contain small parts by nature. Where applicable, we label these products with age recommendations and choking hazard warnings, and we support our private label clients in applying the correct warnings for their target market’s regulations (such as CPSIA in the US or EN71 in the EU).
**No chemical treatment or synthetic enhancement.** We do not artificially dye, coat, or chemically alter our geodes or fossils to misrepresent their natural appearance. What you receive is the authentic material, graded honestly by size and quality.
**Packaging built to prevent damage in transit.** Bulk bags, reinforced cartons, and palletized loads are chosen specifically to reduce breakage — which matters for safety as much as for product condition, since damaged specimens are more likely to have sharp edges.
**Quality control before every shipment.** Every order passes a pre-shipment check, and we welcome third-party inspection — by your own QC agent or an independent inspector — for any order, at your request.

## Ethical Sourcing
**Direct excavation, not unverified resale.** We source directly from Moroccan deposits ourselves. We’re not purchasing unverified stock from unknown intermediaries, which means we can speak accurately to where every lot actually came from.
**Fair labor at every stage.** From excavation to sorting to packaging, the people who handle our material are our own team, working at our facility — not outsourced to unregulated third parties.
**Respect for the source.** Responsible excavation practices matter to us, both for the long-term sustainability of the deposits we work with and because it’s simply the right way to operate.
**Full traceability.** Every lot can be traced back to its origin. We welcome facility visits from serious buyers, and we accept independent inspectors or sourcing agents acting on a buyer’s behalf, so our sourcing claims are verifiable, not just stated.

## Frequently Asked Questions
**Are your geodes and fossils treated or artificially enhanced?**
No. We ship natural, untreated material. Grading reflects the specimen’s natural quality, not artificial enhancement.
**Do your break-your-own geode kits meet children’s product safety standards?**
We label kit products with appropriate age recommendations and choking hazard warnings, and we work with private label clients to ensure packaging meets the specific regulatory requirements of their target market (such as CPSIA in the US or EN71 in the EU). Because requirements vary by country, we recommend confirming your specific compliance needs with us at the quote stage.
**How do you verify ethical sourcing claims?**
We welcome facility visits by appointment, and we accept independent inspectors or sourcing agents visiting on a buyer’s behalf, so our sourcing can be verified directly rather than taken on faith.
**Can you provide safety documentation or certificates for import?**
Yes — reach out with your destination country and product line, and we’ll confirm what documentation applies to your order.
**Do you inspect every batch before shipping?**
Yes. Every order receives a pre-shipment quality check, and third-party inspection is available on request for any order.
